Hello Outdoorsy owner community,

Over the next few days, owners will receive (or may have already received) notice of changes in federal tax legislation.

Outdoorsy needs your help to prepare form 1099-K for your 2021/2022 personal or business taxes.

By law, Outdoorsy must provide 1099-K tax forms to people who make $20,000 or more on our platform in 2021. In 2022, we’ll be required to provide 1099-Ks for people earning $600 or more.

If you have reached $20,000 in 2021 provide your tax info by Dec. 10
Log in to Outdoorsy to add your tax info, including your Social Security number (SSN) or employer identification number (EIN). This will only take a few minutes.

We’ll prepare a 1099-K tax form for you and send a copy to the Internal Revenue Service (IRS).

Avoid penalties and automatic withholding
If you don’t report your taxable income from 2021, you may be subject to fines and penalties from the IRS.

For everyone else planning to make $600 or more in 2022, add your tax info by Dec. 31
Starting in 2022, it’s even more important for Outdoorsy to have your tax information. If we don’t, we must, by law, withhold and remit at least 24% of your payouts directly to the IRS.

What to do
Add your tax information, including your Social Security number (SSN) or employer identification number (EIN), to Outdoorsy by Dec. 31. If you don’t, we’ll be required, by law, to start withholding income tax from the payouts you receive.
