I am trying to figure out what kind of price I should charge for generator usage. When I first setup on listing Outdoorsy put a price of $1 for ever hour over 4 hours per day. I am thinking that is a little steep.
We do $4 per hour over 2 hours a day. I don't think your price is steep.
I allow 4 hours free/day and $5/hour over the free hours. I like to discourage excess generator use to ensure they don't wear it out.
But some times I give discounts on a case by case bases.
How important is having a generator. I'm new to renting my travel trailer and have been in a full hookup. Do many renters require one? I know this is a little off the question but was curious.
The generator is part of the trailer. My trailer is a toy hauler and most places where people would take it, there is no hook ups.
For 4 years I've given 3 hrs/day and then $4/hr. For Burning Man I give them 4 hours. My renters that just returned from the Burn only went over by 10 hours. I also warn them to use it considerably because they're burning fuel as well.
Thanks A toy hauler is for motorcycles and the like?
Yes. It is a towable RV that has space for hauling ATV's, Motor cycles, or other toys. Mine has a gas station with a 37 Gal. gas tank. The generator runs off the same tank.
Mine the cargo area turns in the sleeping/dinning area. 2 bed drop from the ceiling and the bottom bunk turns in to a "U" shaped dinette. Take a lookhttps://www.outdoorsy.co/rv/17511
