I just had someone from National General tell me that the personal policy coverage they provide Outdoorsy owners does NOT include total replacement coverage, which is pretty standard in RV policies. He can't even quote it. The policy is $3000 a year, compared to $600-$800 with Geico/Progressive.
His reason is that because I'm renting it out, it's higher risk for personal coverage, even though the renter has to purchase coverage to rent the van.
I'm kind of shocked at $3000, especially since it doesn't include total replacement coverage. He also told me that he would not be able to give me a policy using a Good Sam membership discount. That would have been $1700 rather than $3K. But he won't give me any personal coverage for less than $3K
Has anyone heard any differently from National General. I don't see how this is a great deal for us. I'd do just as well going with commercial insurance.
