Ok! So you've got an older vehicle that you're trying to pay off. Or maybe you got a vehicle and you're willing to
Because Outdoorsy does not provide liability insurance for motorized vehicles older than model year 2000, we recommend reaching out to your renter and asking them to acquire an insurance binder from a third-party insurance provider.
From our founder, Ryan Quinn:
"What I did was call my insurance company and let them know what was going on. I ended up switching to Farmer's and adding our renter as an extra insured. In other cases, I've had the renter get a binder.
I'll add that because mine is a van, it may be a bit easier than a normal RV. Basically since it's registered as a passenger van instead of an RV it seems like there are fewer exclusions on people's personal policies. When it comes to adding to my own policy, I've only done it once and that's because it was a pretty big rental. It was kind of a lot of hassle and I wasn't 100% comfortable knowing that my insurance would be impacted if there was an issue."
