I was very excited when within a month of listing my trailer on Outdoorsy I had 4 confirmed bookings. I went out and got the rig fully inspected, purchased new linens and tableware, probably ~$800 in total. No problem I thought, these first rentals will more than pay for that. As encouraged by Outdoorsy, I set a flexible cancellation policy in order to encourage potential renters. Imagine my disappointment when one by one, my renters ALL backed out for seemingly good reasons.
I am now changing my cancellation policy to moderate and encourage others to do the same, so that any investment you've made specifically for renters isn't lost. Outdoorsy keeps the fees they charge anyway, so you might as well get something if there's a cancellation.
Keeping my fingers crossed that some new reservations will replace the old, but haven't had a bite in a couple of weeks.
